But the document set reviewed for this article includes repeated direct scheduling traffic between Rowan's assistants and Jeffrey Epstein, a confirmed February 14, 2016 call arrangement between the two men, and a February 22, 2016 exchange in which Epstein asks Rowan about a liability amount on Apollo's balance sheet [4][6][9][10].

That matters because Apollo told clients and partners on February 18, 2026 that Rowan "had no business or personal relationship with Jeffrey Epstein" outside "select instances" involving Leon Black's personal tax matters [2]. The files reviewed here do not settle the purpose of every contact. They do show a narrower but important point: Rowan's channel to Epstein was direct, recurring, and still active years after Epstein's 2008 conviction. September and October 2013 emails place Rowan at or on the way to breakfast meetings at Epstein's 71st Street townhouse [3][4][5]. A December 16, 2015 scheduling chain says Rowan would rearrange his calendar and come to Epstein, followed by a January 5 confirmation that he would be at the townhouse for breakfast the next morning [6][7]. They do establish repeated direct access to Epstein's townhouse through Rowan's own office and through Leon Black's office. That distinction matters because it narrows the universe of plausible explanations. These were not stray address-book traces or one-off forwarding artifacts. They were active calendar negotiations with named assistants, named participants, and a fixed location that appears again and again. The later emails matter because they show the contact did not end in 2013. One line on that January 6 schedule references later arrival logistics involving someone and "her girls" [8]. In this article, that phrase is not treated as a Rowan-specific finding because the visible page does not identify who the phrase refers to or what the underlying context was. The stronger and cleaner point is the one the document plainly supports: Rowan appears as a named 8:00 a.m. breakfast appointment on Epstein's schedule the morning after his assistant confirmed the visit [7][8]. That same month-long channel extends into February. On February 14, 2016, Epstein asks Rowan whether that day works to speak, gives a Palm Beach phone number, and Rowan answers, "Will call at 1130. The February 22, 2016 email is the most important document in this set because it is not just a calendar artifact. Epstein writes to Rowan asking about "the tr[a] liability amount" on Apollo's balance sheet and how it is calculated [10]. Rowan replies: the assets and liabilities only reflect what has been created to date and he is in the process of getting the calculation details [10]. A February 18, 2026 letter to clients and partners said Rowan had no business or personal relationship with Epstein outside select instances tied to Leon Black's personal tax matters [2]. They do not, on their own, prove what was discussed across every breakfast, whether each exchange was tied to Leon Black's tax work, or whether any given appointment ended in a substantive business discussion. That is the line this article tries to hold.

No evidence was found in the DOJ FTA corpus snapshot analyzed for this article that independently explains every Rowan-Epstein interaction. The current public record from Apollo offers one explanation: that Rowan's contact was limited to select matters connected to Black's personal tax work [2]. The current DOJ file set adds a different kind of value. It shows frequency, directness, and persistence. Rowan was not only a name in other people's correspondence. His assistants scheduled him into Epstein's home more than once, his name appears on Epstein's own daily schedule, and he personally responded in at least two February 2016 exchanges [7][8][9][10].
