On February 17, 2026, the Associated Press reported that Thomas Pritzker said he deeply regretted his association with Jeffrey Epstein, described the contact as terrible judgment, and was stepping down after Hyatt announced the day before that he would retire as executive chairman and not seek reelection to the board [2][3]. Many of those records are duplicates, schedules, or incidental mentions. The smaller set reviewed for this article is narrower and more useful: a 2003 dinner-planning email with Ghislaine Maxwell, a 2010 dinner at Epstein's house, direct meeting logistics in 2011, a March 2012 Hyatt and Park Hyatt exchange built around Woody Allen and Leon Black, an August 2013 island-week reminder to call Pritzker, a 2015 late lunch on an Epstein schedule, a 2016 dinner with Larry Summers and Kathy Ruemmler, and a February 2019 exchange about witness claims [5][6][7][9][10][11][12][13][14].

Some of this relationship has already been reported publicly. The Chicago Maroon wrote in February 2026 that newly released files showed Pritzker in sustained contact with Epstein, and reported that Pritzker denied wrongdoing and was not accused of criminal conduct [4]. Two days later, Pritzker wrote back: "My first choice is always your house. I will check on whether we have a good room at Hyatt and let you know by 11 am. We land at 0900 Thursday" [9]. The same day, Epstein asked whether Pritzker wanted to meet at the U.S. ambassador's residence in Paris at 4:30 p.m. at 41 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore and suggested going for a walk with Woody and Soon-Yi, with Margot welcome [10]. The restraint here matters. These documents do not show what every guest discussed. They do not prove Hyatt as an institution knew about or endorsed the relationship. They do show Pritzker using Hyatt accommodations and Park Hyatt dinner planning inside a direct Epstein coordination chain [9][10]. That is more concrete than a generic claim that the men were socially acquainted. After Paris, the record does not stop. An August 2013 schedule from Epstein's inbox planned travel from Teterboro to the island and, on August 29, included a reminder: "Call Bill Richardson, Peggy Siegal, Tom Pritzker" [11]. That line does not place Pritzker physically on Little Saint James. It does place him on Epstein's island-week contact list while Epstein was in the U.S. Virgin Islands [11]. Two years later, another schedule dated August 26, 2015, set a "LATE LUNCH w/Tom Pritzker" for August 27, followed the next day by a dinner with Woody Allen, and then noted on August 30: "Girls to return to NY via Delta" [12]. The pattern continued in 2016. A May 19 schedule lists a 7:00 p.m. dinner with Terje, Raafat, Kathy Ruemmler, Tom Pritzker, and Larry Summers [13]. Then, on February 9, 2019, five months before Epstein's arrest, Epstein emailed Pritzker claiming others had been told he was a witness against Trump and Clinton and that his credibility "needs destroying." Pritzker replied that he was quiet, had called a chairman's dinner for February 26, and was leaving for Asia midweek [14].
